How to set a price alert
Yes. Price alerts let you be notified when an instrument crosses a level you choose, without keeping the chart open. Create an alert from the terminal (in the alerts area of the Positions panel), pick the symbol, whether you want it to trigger above or below your target price, and optionally whether it watches the bid, ask or last price. You can also set a one-time time-based reminder. When the condition is met you get a notification (and, depending on the alert's setting, a sound). Alerts can be one-shot or set to repeat, and you can pause, edit or delete them. Note that an alert only notifies you — it does not place a trade automatically.
- 1In the Trading Terminal, open the price-alerts area of the Positions panel.
- 2Choose the symbol and set your target price and whether it should trigger above or below it.
- 3Optionally pick bid/ask/last and whether the alert repeats or fires once.
- 4Save it; you'll be notified when the price crosses your level.
